"This album was mostly written mostly during the COVID period and the ensuing first year of Conservatory at HKU. After seeing William Smith's 'Nomad' album launch in MSA in Malta, the pianist Ali Murat Cengiz asked wether I write my own songs, to which I replied that I do. He encouraged me to record them in that same hall - and so by the end of the summer I had done. It was recorded over two humid summer days with Quentin Falzon acting as engineer and mixed by myself the following Christmas period, mastered by Ron Kestello in Vianen the following spring.

The songs are about personal trials and tribulations, introspective and dark in nature - some others are the result of technical studies, taking inspiration mainly from Chopin, Mehldau and Hamasyan.

Special thanks to Veronica Mercieca for giving me valuable feedback after listening to the tracks on the Monday session, Khoen Liem for letting me use his Yamaha grand to practice, Francesca Soster for listening to me practice, and everyone else who inspired me to write the tracks."
